Re: CHANGES IN THE FGAU 2021-24 ELECTIONS ROADMAP AND POLLING DAY
Due to enormous requests and recommendation by various stakeholders, in the interest to allow room and involve as many interested parties as possible, the Federation of Gospel Artists of Uganda, FGAU has made adjustments and hereby announces a new roadmap and polling day as below;
- Members/voters registration & mobilization and regularization of Federating Entities is extended until the 10th December, 2021
This period is a window for creating further awareness about the FGAU elections and enrolling members and/or voters through their Primary Federating Entities (PFEs).
It should be noted that FGAU is an all Christian creatives & allied stakeholders body incorporating singers, musicians, dancers, song writers, comedians, film & drama acts, fashionistas, sports persons, media practitioners, painters, designers, promoters, Artist managers, etc., through their respective Primary Federating Entity (PFE) such as an Association, NGO/CBO, Brand, Company or label.
- 8th November – 10th December, 2021; Expression of interest by respective candidates:
This is the period for anyone interested in standing for any office to express interest by picking the nomination forms and returning them after paying all fees for the respective office. The following are the positions to contest for;

- 16th – 19th Dec 2021: Candidates boot camp & censorship
All aspiring candidates must and will attend a leadership training and mentorship boot camp or retreat where they will be oriented on the Vision, Mission, Aims & Objectives, Structure and operation mode of FGAU. They will also be exposed to leadership and management skills focusing especially on servant leadership and the Industry. The boot camp is also aimed at enhancing friendship, unity and teamwork among the potential incoming leaders. ANY ASPIRING CANDIDATE SHOULD PREPARE FOR THIS MUST ATTEND BOOT CAMP AND WHOEVER MISSES IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DISQUALIFIED.
- 20th December 2021 – 23rd January, 2022; Nominations and campaigns
Successful candidates upon completion of the boot camp will receive a certificate and be announced as duly nominated for their respective offices to the public on 20th December, 2021 and official campaigns also commence then.
- January 2022: Presidential debate
In January 2022 before the polling day, we shall have a televised debate for our presidential candidates to allow them articulate how they intend to address the prevailing Mindustry and leadership challenges.
- 26th January, 2022: Polling day
The elections will finally take place on 26th January, 2022 and will be conducted in a manner that allows every registered member wherever they are to take part in the exercise.
- 14th February, 2022: Swearing in of new elected executive
The swearing in of the new executive will happen on 14th February, at a venue to be communicated.
